ChatGPT is an AI chatbot publicly released on November 30, 2022, by Open AI, an artificial intelligence research firm whose founders included Elon Musk. ChatGPT crossed 1 million users in 5 days of launch and set the record for the fastest-growing platform by gaining 100 million users by January 2023. ChatGPT began to attract explosive attention since it had been known to pass the US Med licensing exam, law school exams, and Wharton’s MBA exam.
ChatGPT is the latest in a series of significant language AI models the firm refers to as GPTs, an acronym for Generative Pre-Trained Transformer. The model was trained on vast text data, including books, articles, and websites, to generate natural language responses to user input. ChatGPT's complex architecture includes multiple layers of artificial neural networks, enabling it to understand natural language patterns and develop coherent and contextually relevant responses.

ChatGPT is expected to change the way humans interact with technology. By enabling natural language communication, ChatGPT can provide personalized assistance, answer complex questions, and engage in meaningful conversations. It can help humans in various fields, including education, healthcare, customer service, and research. ChatGPT can also be used to create virtual assistants and chatbots that can provide 24/7 support and improve customer engagement.
However, as with any technology, ChatGPT also poses ethical concerns. The use of language models like ChatGPT raises issues related to privacy, data security, and bias. ChatGPT requires vast amounts of data to function, resulting in a risk of misusing sensitive or confidential information. There is also a possibility that the data utilized to primarily train the system is biased, which may result in discriminatory or unethical behavior. Unfortunately, it is also being used for some criminal purposes like generating hacking scripts, phishing emails, etc. As a result, there must be regulations implemented to control the use of ChatGPT and other language models to ensure their ethical and responsible use.
