In 2011, NASA launched a space probe known as Juno. Its purpose was to orbit around Jupiter and take pictures of Jupiter and its moons. Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system, has many moons that orbit around it. One of the moons is Ganymede, Jupiter’s largest moon and the largest moon in the solar system. Very recently, the Juno probe has taken the first close-up images of Ganymede in more than 20 years. Furthermore, according to NASA, the JunoCam, the camera on Juno, captured an entire side of the moon, which has a surface of water ice. It has also taken images of Ganymede’s dark side (the side opposite to the sunlight).
Ganymede itself is a moon that has an iron core covered by a layer of rock and a thick layer of ice on top of it. Scientists believe that it is possible that there is an ocean inside the layer of ice. In addition, astronomers discovered evidence of a thin layer of oxygen in the atmosphere on the moon. All of the evidence indicates a possibility of life on Ganymede and scientists are currently further investigating this moon to see further clues on possible life.

가니메데는 그 가운데에는 철이 핵심을 이루고 있고, 그 위를 바위, 그 위로는 얼음이 덮고 있는 위성입니다. 과학자들은 이 가니메데 얼음표면 아래에 커다란 바다가 있을 가능성이 있다고 믿고 있습니다. 게다가 천문학자들은 가니메데 표면위에 얇은 산소층을 발견하며 이 위성에 생명체가 살고 있을 가능성에 대해 조사 중입니다.
